Lifetime Tracking: privacy policy

Last updated October 8, 2026

This covers the Lifetime Tracking app and the tracking page you open from our text. They are run by Lifetime Logistics Services LLC, the freight broker for the load you're hauling.

What we collect

  • Your phone's location for the load you're hauling: where the phone is, how exact that reading is, speed, direction and the time.
  • Whether you're using the app or the page, which kind of phone (iPhone or Android), and the app's version.
  • The time you agreed to share your location.
  • If you send a photo of delivery paperwork from the app, it is stored with that load so our team can download it. The app only takes a photo when you press the button.

We don't collect anything else from your phone: no contacts, photos, messages or other apps. Your name and phone number come from your carrier's dispatch for the load, not from the app.

When

  • The app: you agree once, when you set it up, and pair it with your phone number through a tracking link from our dispatch. From then on, whenever you have a load booked through Lifetime Logistics, it sends one location every 15 minutes, from 4 hours before the pickup appointment until about an hour after the truck arrives at the receiver. This continues when the app is closed or not in use, or the phone is locked (that is why it asks for location set to "Always"). Between loads, the app doesn't use your location at all; a notification tells you when sharing starts for your next load.
  • The tracking page: only while the page is open on your screen, and only for that load.
  • You can stop any time: one tap on "Stop sharing" in the app (it stops right away and unpairs the phone), uninstall the app, or close the page.

Why

  • So our dispatchers can see where the truck is and tell the shipper and receiver when to expect it.
  • To spot problems early: a load off its route, a long unexplained stop, or signs that someone other than the booked carrier has the load.
  • To keep a record of the trip if there is a cargo claim.

Who sees it

  • Lifetime Logistics staff. We never sell your location or use it for advertising.
  • The companies that run our server and send our texts handle the data for us, under our instructions.
  • Two public map services get map coordinates only, never your name, phone number or load: OpenStreetMap, to check whether a spot where a truck has been parked for hours is a truck stop or rest area; and the US Census Bureau's geocoder, to name the nearest town for a position (rounded to about half a mile before it's sent).
  • We may share a trip record when the law requires it, or with the shipper, the carrier and insurers when there is a cargo claim on that load.

How long we keep it

  • Location history is deleted after 12 months. A phone's pairing record goes 30 days after it's unpaired, or after 12 months without contact.
  • If there is a cargo claim on a load, that load's history is kept until the claim is settled.
  • Backups are kept only as long as needed to restore the system.

Your choices

  • Sharing is optional for you, though your carrier or the load may require tracking. If you stop sharing, dispatch may call you for updates.
  • The app also tells us which kind of phone it runs on, its version, and whether location is set to Always, so dispatch knows what to expect.
  • You can turn location off for the app or the page in your phone's settings at any time.
  • To ask what we hold about you, or to have it corrected or deleted, email info@lifetimelogistics.com or contact the dispatcher who sent you the load.
