One corner of a large state

We would rather be accurate than broad. New Mexico is a big state, and our experience in it is concentrated in one place. Of the loads we moved here from January through September 2026, about seven in eight picked up or delivered in Santa Teresa, in Dona Ana County on the Texas line.

Santa Teresa has a port of entry and a group of industrial parks that serve freight moving between the United States and Mexico. We treat it as part of the same market as El Paso, which is a few miles east.

Into Santa Teresa

About six in ten of our New Mexico loads were deliveries. The most frequent was a dry van from the South Bay of Los Angeles, roughly 810 miles and two days on Interstate 10, which is covered on the Los Angeles to El Paso page.

Flatbeds came from the Inland Empire about once a month, around 750 miles. Flatbed made up one in five of our New Mexico loads, a higher share than in most states we serve.

Out of Santa Teresa

Four loads in ten were pickups, and they went in several directions. The most common was east to the Dallas and Fort Worth area, about 650 miles. Others went to Denver and northern Colorado, to Las Vegas, and back to Southern California. A couple went as far as Pennsylvania, which is outside the region we normally serve and was arranged with a partner carrier.

The rest of New Mexico

Beyond the southern border area our record is thin: a few deliveries to Albuquerque from the Inland Empire, and single loads elsewhere in the state. Albuquerque is about 790 miles from Los Angeles on Interstate 40, a two day trip.

We are glad to quote those lanes. We just want you to know they are occasional for us, not weekly.

Two roads into New Mexico

There are two ways into New Mexico from California, and they serve different halves of the state. Interstate 10 runs through Tucson to Lordsburg, Deming and Las Cruces in the south, and it is the road to Santa Teresa. Interstate 40 runs through Flagstaff to Gallup and Albuquerque in the north. Inside the state the two are joined by Interstate 25 along the Rio Grande. A truck bound for Albuquerque never passes Santa Teresa, so we quote them as separate lanes.

Coverage and limits

Partner carriers hauled about three quarters of our New Mexico loads in 2026, each vetted through Highway. Our own trucks took the rest, mainly dry vans arriving from Los Angeles County.

We deliver to and pick up from facilities on the United States side of the Santa Teresa port of entry. We do not list cross border trucking or customs brokerage.

Trucks entering New Mexico stop at a port of entry for weight and permit checks, and the state collects a weight distance tax from carriers. Those are the carrier's responsibility and are already part of the price we quote.

We have no office, yard or staff in New Mexico. Loads are dispatched from Covina, California. See also Texas and Arizona.

Questions shippers ask

Where in New Mexico do you ship?
Almost entirely Santa Teresa, next to El Paso. We have also delivered to Albuquerque a few times.
How long does a truckload take from Los Angeles to Santa Teresa?
Two days with one driver. It is about 810 miles on Interstate 10.
Do you cross into Mexico at Santa Teresa?
No. We pick up and deliver on the United States side only and do not list cross border service.
Can you ship from Santa Teresa to Dallas?
Yes. It was our most common outbound lane from Santa Teresa in 2026, handled by partner carriers.
