Our second busiest state

After California, Arizona is where we do the most business. About one load in four that we moved from January through September 2026 picked up or delivered here.

Three quarters of those loads were leaving the state. Arizona is also where flatbed matters most to us: nearly a third of our Arizona loads went on open deck trailers, compared with about one in eight across the company.

Phoenix

The Phoenix area accounts for about five of every six Arizona loads. It is an outbound market for us. Dry vans go west on Interstate 10 to the Inland Empire and Los Angeles, which we describe on the Los Angeles to Phoenix page, and north to Nevada on the Phoenix to Las Vegas lane.

Flatbeds leave Phoenix about three times a week, including roughly one a week toward San Diego County and one toward the Salinas Valley in California.

Northern Arizona

The second piece is smaller and runs the other way. About once a week a dry van leaves the Inland Empire for Yavapai County in northern Arizona, and our own trucks haul four out of five of those loads. We also delivered to Flagstaff and Kingman a few times over the year.

Those trips use Interstate 40 across the Colorado River near Needles, or Interstate 10 and Interstate 17 through Phoenix. Flagstaff sits near 7,000 feet, and winter storms on Interstate 40 and Interstate 17 can close the road, so allow extra time on those loads between November and March.

Southern Arizona

South of Phoenix our volume is light: a couple of loads a month in total to Yuma, Tucson and the border towns of Nogales, Douglas and San Luis. Most were dry van or power only deliveries. We deliver on the United States side only and do not list cross border service.

Two things that catch shippers out

The first is time. Most of Arizona stays on Mountain Standard Time all year, so from March to November Phoenix shares the clock with Los Angeles, and in winter it is an hour ahead. Give us appointment times in Arizona time.

The second is the summer monsoon. From about July through September, dust storms can cut visibility on Interstate 10 to almost nothing within minutes and close the road between Phoenix and Tucson. Drivers are taught to pull off and wait them out. A load that would normally arrive in the morning can slip to the afternoon on those days.

Who hauls Arizona freight

Partner carriers hauled about three quarters of our Arizona loads in 2026, including nearly all of the flatbed work. Each one is vetted through Highway before dispatch. Our own trucks cover the northern Arizona deliveries and a good share of the eastbound dry vans into Phoenix.

Drop trailers are part of the picture on one Arizona lane: more than half of the dry vans from Phoenix to the Inland Empire are dropped at the receiver. See drop trailer service.

We do not have an office, yard or employees in Arizona. Every Arizona load is quoted, dispatched and tracked from Covina, California.

Questions shippers ask

Which Arizona cities do you ship to and from?
Mostly Phoenix and the surrounding valley. We also deliver weekly to northern Arizona and occasionally to Flagstaff, Kingman, Yuma, Tucson and the border towns.
Do you offer flatbed service in Arizona?
Yes. Nearly a third of our Arizona loads in 2026 were flatbed, almost all picking up in Phoenix and hauled by partner carriers we vet through Highway.
Can you ship from California to northern Arizona?
Yes. We run a dry van from the Inland Empire to northern Arizona about once a week, usually on one of our own trucks.
Do you have an office in Arizona?
No. Our only location is in Covina, California. We serve Arizona shippers and receivers from there.
