Freight questions from western shippers, answered
These are freight questions that shippers in the western states ask us, each answered on its own page with a direct answer first and today’s numbers from our own lanes. Lifetime Logistics Services LLC is a licensed freight broker with its own trucks, and the quote form on every page reaches our dispatch desk.
What you will find here
Each page takes one question that comes up again and again when a shipper is planning a full truckload in California, the Pacific Northwest, the desert Southwest or the Mountain West, and answers it the way our dispatch desk would on the phone. The first two sentences give you the answer. The rest explains what moves the number, what to ask before you book, and where the answer changes from one lane to the next.
Where a question is about price, the page shows today’s estimate for that lane and this week’s diesel price, both dated, so you can see how old the number is. Prices on a truckload lane move with fuel, the season and how many trucks are sitting in the market that week, which is why we date them instead of printing a number that goes stale.
Every answer is about freight we actually move: full truckloads on dry vans, flatbeds and power only, on lanes we run across eleven western states. When a question is about a lane or a trailer we do not run, we leave it alone rather than guess.
How to use these answers
Each answer gives you the number first and then the reasons behind it, so you can judge whether your own load fits the example. Freight that is heavier than usual, needs tarps or straps, has to meet a tight appointment at a store or distribution center, or ships from a small town far from the interstate will price differently from the lane estimate. Tell us those details when you ask for a quote and the price you get back will reflect them.
When an answer names one of our lanes, the lane page linked from it shows the route, the drive, the trailers we run on it and the trip back. City pages show which lanes start and end there. Between them you can see what a truck on your lane actually does before you book it.
Who answers
Lifetime Logistics Services LLC is a licensed freight broker and motor carrier based in Covina, California, USDOT 3711199 and MC 1302550. We run some loads on our own tractors and the rest with partner carriers we screen before they touch your freight. The answers come from the people who book and track those loads, and each page names the lanes behind it.
If your question is not here yet, ask it in the quote form at the top of any page. Tell us the pickup and delivery cities, the trailer and the date, and our dispatch desk will answer with a real price for your load.
Questions shippers ask
- Are the prices on these pages quotes?
- No. They are estimates for a full truckload on that lane today, before extras such as detention, lumper fees, tarps or extra stops. For a firm price on your own load, use the quote form and our dispatch desk will answer the same day.
- Why does each price show a date?
- Truckload prices change with diesel, the season and how many trucks are free in a market that week. The date tells you how fresh the number is, and the diesel line shows the weekly price it was built on.
- Which freight do you answer questions about?
- Full truckload freight on dry vans, flatbeds and power only, on lanes we run in California, Oregon, Washington, Nevada, Arizona, Utah, Idaho, Montana, Colorado, New Mexico and Texas. We do not answer questions about less than truckload, parcel or international moves.
