Freight shipping in Utah

Lifetime Logistics Services LLC, a freight broker and trucking company based in Covina, California, runs freight shipping in Utah mostly on its own trucks. A dry van leaves the Inland Empire for southern Utah about once a week, and we deliver to Salt Lake City and the Wasatch Front a couple of times a month. The state where our own trucks do most of the work

In most states partner carriers haul the majority of our loads. Utah is the reverse. More than four in five of our Utah loads from January through September 2026 were hauled by our own trucks and drivers.

The reason is geography. Interstate 15 runs straight from our home market in the Inland Empire through Las Vegas to Utah, and the trips are the right length for our fleet to go out and come back.

St. George and southern Utah

St. George is our most regular Utah destination. We delivered there in about four weeks out of five in 2026. The trip from the Inland Empire is around 340 miles: up the Cajon Pass, across the Mojave, through Las Vegas, and then through the Virgin River Gorge in the corner of Arizona before reaching Utah.

It is normally a next day delivery, and an early pickup can arrive the same evening. All of these loads were 53 foot dry vans.

Salt Lake City and the Wasatch Front

Farther north, we delivered along the Wasatch Front a couple of times a month: Salt Lake City itself, West Valley City, West Jordan, Ogden and up to Cache Valley. About half of those loads were power only and half were dry van.

From Southern California it is roughly 700 miles, all on Interstate 15, which makes it a two day trip for one driver. Loads left from both Los Angeles County and the Inland Empire.

Why southern and northern Utah are separate trips

St. George and Salt Lake City are about 300 miles apart, a drive of four to five hours. A truck that delivers in St. George is closer to Las Vegas, about 120 miles back down Interstate 15, than it is to the Wasatch Front. That is why the two behave like different markets for us. Southern Utah fits into a short round trip from Southern California, and northern Utah takes twice as long.

Freight out of Utah

We picked up in Utah only a few times in the period, from the Ogden area and from St. George, bringing dry vans back to the Inland Empire. Nine loads in ten were deliveries.

So if you receive freight in Utah from California, this is a lane we know well and cover with our own drivers. If you ship out of Utah, we can quote it, and a truck that has just delivered for us may be nearby, but we cannot promise one.

Weather and timing

Interstate 15 is a reliable route most of the year. The places that slow trucks are the Cajon Pass in Southern California, the grades between Cedar City and Beaver in winter, and the narrow canyon of the Virgin River Gorge. Utah is on Mountain Time, one hour ahead of California, so give us appointment times in local time.

We have no office, yard or employees in Utah. Your load is dispatched from Covina, California. Neighboring coverage is described on the Nevada and Idaho pages.

Questions shippers ask

Do you ship from California to St. George, Utah?
Yes, about once a week from the Inland Empire in a 53 foot dry van, usually on one of our own trucks. It is around 340 miles and normally a next day delivery.
How long does a truckload take from Los Angeles to Salt Lake City?
Two days with one driver. It is roughly 700 miles on Interstate 15.
Are Utah loads hauled by your own trucks?
Most are. More than four in five of our Utah loads in 2026 were on our own trucks. The rest went to partner carriers vetted through Highway.
Can you pick up freight in Utah?
We can quote it. About nine in ten of our Utah loads are deliveries, so outbound coverage depends on where our trucks are that week.
