Freight in both directions
Las Vegas takes in far more freight than it sends out, and our records reflect that: a little more than half of our loads here from January through September 2026 were deliveries. What is less usual is how much we also bring back out. About a third of our Las Vegas loads were pickups headed for Southern California.
That balance is good for shippers on both ends. A truck we send up Interstate 15 with a delivery often has a return load waiting, which helps us hold capacity on the lane.
The lanes we run
Los Angeles to Las Vegas and the return trip each run about once a week, around 270 miles through the Cajon Pass, Barstow and Baker. Most northbound loads start in the Commerce area and deliver in Las Vegas or North Las Vegas.
From Arizona, Phoenix to Las Vegas is also about once a week, nearly all dry van, on US 93 through Kingman.
We also see occasional loads from Orange County and the Inland Empire, and a couple from the El Paso area.
Box trucks and local moves
Las Vegas is the one market where box trucks are a meaningful part of our work. Close to one load in five here moved on a straight truck instead of a tractor trailer. Some of those ran between Los Angeles and Las Vegas with freight too small to need a 53 foot trailer. Others were short local moves inside the valley, between North Las Vegas and Las Vegas.
Box truck loads are covered by partner carriers. If your shipment is a few pallets and needs its own truck, tell us the pallet count and weight and we will quote the right size vehicle.
One road in from Southern California
Every truck from Southern California arrives the same way, over the Cajon Pass and across the Mojave on Interstate 15. There is no practical alternative, so a crash or a holiday weekend on that road delays every Las Vegas delivery at once. Friday afternoons heading north and Sunday afternoons heading south are the slowest. Midweek pickups are the most predictable.
Coverage and delivery details
Partner carriers hauled about five in six of our Las Vegas loads in 2026, and our own trucks the rest. Every partner is vetted through Highway.
Deliveries to hotels, convention halls and event sites often have strict dock schedules and check in rules. If your load is going to one of those, give us the delivery window and any dock instructions with the quote request so the driver arrives with the right paperwork at the right time.
We serve Las Vegas from Covina, California. We have no office or yard in Nevada.

Questions shippers ask
- How long does a truckload take from Los Angeles to Las Vegas?
- About 270 miles and normally a next day delivery. A load that picks up early can deliver the same day if the receiver is open, but weekend traffic on Interstate 15 can add hours.
- Do you deliver to North Las Vegas and Henderson?
- Yes. We quote the whole valley, including North Las Vegas, where many warehouses are, and Henderson.
- Can you move a small shipment that does not need a full trailer?
- If it needs its own truck, yes. We arrange box trucks through partner carriers for moves within the Las Vegas valley and between Las Vegas and Los Angeles. We do not list shared, less than truckload service.
- Is it cheaper to ship into Las Vegas or out of it?
- It changes from week to week. Las Vegas receives more freight than it ships, so trucks leaving the valley are often easier to find than trucks going in. We do not post rates. Request a quote and we will price your direction and date.
