What we actually move in Los Angeles
Los Angeles is a delivery market for us more than a pickup market. From January through September 2026, about seven in ten of the loads we handled here were coming in, and most of those delivered to the industrial cities east and south of downtown: Commerce, Vernon, City of Industry, Irwindale, Compton, Torrance and Santa Fe Springs.
Nearly nine loads in ten were dry van. Flatbeds made up most of the rest, and a small number of local and Las Vegas loads went on box trucks through partner carriers.
Where Los Angeles freight comes from and goes to
The largest share arrives from the San Joaquin Valley. We bring several loads a week down from the Central Valley over the Grapevine on Interstate 5, a trip of about 170 miles. A few loads a week come south on US 101 from the Salinas Valley.
From outside California, we bring about a load a week each from Phoenix and Las Vegas. We also run return loads from southern Idaho into the San Gabriel Valley a few times a month on our own trucks.
Outbound, the steady lanes are Los Angeles to Las Vegas and Los Angeles to El Paso, each about once a week, plus occasional loads to the Bay Area, the Coachella Valley and Salt Lake City.
Our trucks or a partner carrier
About one Los Angeles load in five rode on our own trucks in 2026. We tend to keep our own drivers on the longer outbound trips, such as El Paso, northern Arizona and Utah, and use partner carriers for the short inbound hauls from the valleys, where local carriers are plentiful. Every partner carrier is vetted through Highway before we hand them a load.
Things to know about shipping in the Los Angeles basin
Distances here are short and drive times are not. A delivery from the Inland Empire to Vernon is about 55 miles and can still take two hours in weekday traffic on Interstate 10 or State Route 60. When you request a quote, give us the receiving hours and tell us whether the delivery is by appointment, so we can plan the arrival around the traffic instead of into it.
The ports of Los Angeles and Long Beach sit at the south end of the county. We do not list port drayage as a service, because our records show truckload freight moving between warehouses, plants and distribution centers, not containers coming off the terminals.
We are based in Covina, in the San Gabriel Valley, and that is our only location. We do not have a yard or an office in the city of Los Angeles.

Questions shippers ask
- Do you pick up and deliver anywhere in Los Angeles County?
- Yes. Most of our Los Angeles loads deliver in the industrial areas around Commerce, Vernon, City of Industry and the South Bay, but we quote pickups and deliveries anywhere in the county that a 53 foot trailer can reach.
- How often do you run freight into Los Angeles?
- Ten to twenty loads a week touched the Los Angeles area in our records for January through September 2026, and we had loads here in every week of that period.
- Can you haul containers from the ports of Los Angeles and Long Beach?
- Port drayage is not something we list today. We move truckload freight in dry vans and on flatbeds between shippers and receivers. If your freight has already been unloaded from the container into a warehouse, we can quote it from there.
- What drives the cost of a truckload out of Los Angeles?
- The destination and distance matter most, followed by trailer type, weight, how much notice we get, and how many trucks are looking for loads out of Southern California that week. We quote each load, so send the form and we will price yours.
