Anaheim as a freight market

Most people know Anaheim for the resort district and the stadium, but for a truck the city is its north side. The Anaheim Canyon area along the Santa Ana River, between State Route 91 and State Route 57, is the largest industrial district in Orange County: manufacturing plants, food and beverage producers, packaging companies and distribution buildings on a grid of streets built for trucks. Fullerton, Placentia and Buena Park continue the same pattern to the north and west, and the BNSF main line from the harbor to San Bernardino runs through the middle of it.

Orange County has no seaport and no major rail yard of its own, so its freight arrives by truck from the ports, from the Inland Empire warehouses and from the valleys to the north, which is where we come in. The county's shippers are manufacturers and distributors rather than importers, and they ship and receive in full truckloads of dry freight.

What our records show here

Anaheim is an inbound market for us. Between January and September 2026 roughly seven of every ten loads here were deliveries, every one a dry van, and loads reached the area in most months. The largest single flow was dry vans from the Salinas Valley and Central Coast, about 330 miles down US 101, which delivered in Anaheim roughly twice a month. Dry vans from the Phoenix area arrived a few times, and outbound loads left for Los Angeles County and for Las Vegas.

Partner carriers hauled most of these loads and our own trucks a few of the outbound ones. Each partner goes through Highway checks on identity, authority and insurance before dispatch.

Getting to Anaheim

Anaheim is about 28 miles from central Los Angeles on Interstate 5, about 25 miles from our office in Covina on State Route 57, and about 30 miles from the Inland Empire on State Route 91. All three are same day moves, and all three are slower than they look on a map. The 91 through the Santa Ana Canyon is one of the most congested freeways in the state in both directions, and the 5 through the Orange Crush interchange is not far behind. A dock appointment before ten in the morning or after two in the afternoon makes a visible difference to the driver's day.

From farther away, Anaheim takes the same transit as the rest of the basin: next day from the Central Valley, the Salinas Valley, Phoenix and Las Vegas, two days from Salt Lake City and Portland.

Equipment we run to Anaheim

Dry vans, almost without exception. The freight that moves into the Anaheim Canyon is palletized and boxed, loads at a dock and fits inside an enclosed 53 foot trailer. We have not seen flatbed demand here in our records, but open deck loads for the manufacturers along the river are something we arrange through partner carriers on request, and the flatbed trucking page explains how.

Drop trailers are rare in Orange County in our experience, because the lane volumes are lighter than in the Inland Empire. If you ship the same lane into Anaheim every week, ask, and we will tell you whether a dropped trailer makes sense.

Local notes

The resort district and the convention center have their own rules for truck deliveries: marshalling yards, assigned windows and check in procedures that a driver needs before arriving. Tell us if a load is going to a venue rather than a warehouse. Anaheim also enforces truck routes, and the older streets around the Canyon were laid out before 53 foot trailers were common, so the exact dock address and any approach instructions help the driver.

Our only office is in Covina, California; nothing of ours is based in Orange County.

Specialized freight for Orange County builds

Orange County has data halls and plant upgrades of its own, and the electrical equipment for them moves on flatbeds and step decks. Our data center freight section covers transformers, switchgear, generators, chillers and loaded racks, including inside delivery through partners.

Questions shippers ask

How often do you deliver in Anaheim?
About one dry van a week on average in our records between January and September 2026, with loads in most months. Most arrived from the Salinas Valley and Central Coast.
Do you serve the rest of Orange County?
Yes. Anaheim, Fullerton, Buena Park, Placentia, Orange, Santa Ana, Garden Grove and Irvine are all within the same short drive from Covina, and we quote pickups and deliveries at any address a 53 foot trailer can get to.
Can you deliver to the Anaheim Convention Center or a resort venue?
Yes, with the venue's delivery instructions. Those sites assign windows and use marshalling yards, so give us the check in details with the quote request.
How long is the trip from Salinas to Anaheim?
It is about 330 miles, mostly on US 101, and in our records it was a next day delivery.
